Weekend Recap

Happy Monday ladies!!  Hope everyone had an amazing weekend!  My fiance & I went down to San Diego for the weekend with family & had an amazing & relaxing weekend :)

We visited Alta Loma Seafood for lunch & took in the amazing view of the harbor.

We stayed at Humphrey's Half Moon Inn on Shelter Island & I cannot tell you how much I love this hotel!  The ground are beautiful & we felt so peaceful soaking in the views of the bay :)

The rooms were really nice & spacious.

The entrance of the hotel makes you feel like you're a million miles away from Southern California!

We shared a bottle of wine on this deck with my parents before dinner & didn't want to leave!  So beautiful!

As seen in my previous OOTD post we went to Donovan's for dinner.  Yummy!

My Weekend via My iPhone

this weekend my fiance & I took of to Las Vegas for a little mini getaway.  From the OC, Vegas is only a few hour drive, so we left after work & made it there in time to enjoy a late dinner & cocktails.  Needless to say, we were a little tired from the workweek  the drive, so I wore a casual maxi & sandals to a mellow dinner at Max Brenner's in Caesar's Palace.  Super yummy if you're looking for a casual bite or dessert & drinks.

Yummy lemon drop at Max Brenner's.

The next day we went to Tao Beach (at the Venetian) for their pool party & hung out with some friends that live in town.

Tao Beach is definitely my favorite spot for day drinks & a fun pool party :)

That night we went to The Barrymore a little off the strip for dinner.  The food & decor absolutely blew us away.  I love going a little off The Strip to find hidden gems for dinner... It's just so hard for me to pay $60 for a dish that we could get at home for $30 & we find that if you venture off The Strip, the food is actually better & a lot more reasonably priced!  I would HIGHLY recommend The Barrymore.

The next night we went to Mon Ami Gabbi at Paris Hotel for a romantic dinner overlooking The Bellaggio fountains.

I even got my fiance to try escargot!  Haha he WAS NOT a fan, but I just thought they tasted like garlic.

After dinner, we went to "O", Cirque Du Soliel's show at the Bellagio.  It was amazing!

Amazing seats at "O".

After the show we went to The Chandelier Bar at the Cosmopolitan.   Absolutely stunning lounge!  It was the perfect place for a nightcap to an amazing night & weekend.

My pretty cosmo with a blood orange slice.
It's easy to see that we had a pretty great weekend!
Hope you ladies all had a fabulous past few days!

Safe Travels

Last week, I realized how much I hate hospitals.
Since my trip to Spain & Morocco, I've been feeling a bit under the weather, but thought I had just gotten a bad cold & didn't let myself rest properly before going back to work & to my hectic lifestyle.

Turns out, I was suffering form a lot more than jet lag & a head cold, & when last Wednesday, I woke up feel absolutely horrible, I knew something was seriously wrong.

With a temperature of 102.4, blood pressure of 70/38, & terrible stomach pains, my doctor told me I should have come in a lot sooner.  Long story short & 3 nights in the hospital (in isolation none the less), my stomach & intestinal infection was finally under control.

More than likely, my infection was a result from the food I ate on my trip abroad.  I made sure not to drink tap water, but to be honest, I was unaware of any other procotions I should have taken.

I wanted to share the CDC website with you guys & share my story so that next time you travel abroad, you don't come home to a hospital bed...

The CDC breaks food & drink information by country & also lists suggested vaccinations & other helpful info to keep you safe & healthy on your travels.

Next time I travel, I'll be sure to be more careful about dairy products (pasteurized only) & about eating cooked veggies instead of raw.

SPAIN

First stop, MADRID.

I've just been super busy tying up loose ends at work & getting ready for my trip!

Lots of photos to come though since I just got my new camera in the mail!  I researched a lot for this one, & ended up getting a new Canon Powershot.  You can't beat the price point & dependability.

Espana

Next month, i'm off to Espana with some girlfriends for the running of the bulls & a MUCH needed vacation.  I've immersed myself in all things Spanish to prepare myself for the trip.

Right now, I'm reading Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises & lots of travel books & blogs.  In my experience, Lonely Planet Travel Guides are by far the BEST.  I've used them a lot in the past for trips & find them very reliable & informative.
Next, I'll be moving on to the Rosetta Stone for Spanish…
Estoy muy emocionado!

The running of the bulls.  Pamplona, Spain.

Blake Lively looking very Spanish… I want her outfit!
Beach in Malaga, Spain.
