Get Twisted

The front-tie trend is popping up everywhere right now!  I love the look & think it's really flattering.  This work-appropriate version of the trend might be my first, but I guarantee I'll be adding more to my closet soon.

Revlon's Just Bitten

I've read a few reviews from fellow bloggers who've tried Revlon's lip stain called Just Bitten.  I usually use Benifit's lip stain, but since this drugstore version is a fraction of the price, I thought I'd give them a try.

What I love about Revlon's lip stain is they come in a variety of colors (not just a red & a pastel pink shade like Benefit).  Revlon's version is also really easy to apply, with the tip of the stain resembling a marker you use to "draw" on the stain.  The other side of the pen is a balm to give the matte stain a little sheen.

I love stains because you get the dramatic effect of color without the mess of a lipstick & they also tend to last a bit longer (I've worn Just Bitten a couple times in the last week & the stain seems to last a couple of hours before I had to reapply).

I purchased Gothic (top) which teems to be a bright true red & Twilight (bottom) which is a darker red.  I absolutely love the color of Twilight & have worn it day & night & even to work.  It's definitely versatile & work appropriate.

Juice Cleanse Day 3

NOO!!  I just received word that I have to take a client out for dinner & drinks tonight.  I guess working in the restaurant industry & attempting a juice cleanse isn't the easiest of tasks, but at least I made it almost the whole way through, right?

The biggest thing I noticed is how much my appetite changed.  I was expecting to be starving the entire time, but I really wasn't hungry.  I hope to I keep up the momentum & eat smaller portions & make wise decisions.  Usually I'm a HUGE sweets person & haven't had any cravings (I even had a photo shoot at work yesterday with JUST DESSERTS), so hopefully this cleanse cut some cravings for good.

I do still fancy a glass of wine though (I think it's a social thing above all other reasons).

& I definitely want to try this cleanse again.  I think it would be awesome to start out every month with a 3 day cleanse.

Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!  Some Friday Inspiration to come...

Juice Cleanse Day 2

Day 2 of my juice cleanse & I'm surprised that I'm really not hungry!

I went to bed a little hungry last night since I had my last smoothie around 6 o'clock & didn't go to bed until about 11:30, but I woke up feeling fine.

As far as the coffee... I have a confession to make.  I caved!! Haha I only had a 1/2 a cup, but it was heavenly & I don't regret it at all!!  Okay... okay... I do feel a bit guilty because this completely defeats the purpose of doing a cleanse i'm guessing but my job is stressful so i'm using that as my excuse.  The most difficult part of this cleanse is definitely breaking my morning routine of drinking a cup of coffee right when I wake up.  I'll TRY again tomorrow.  Ugh.

Side note... I stepped on the scale this morning & it said I weighed 2 pounds less, which obviously isn't real weight-loss, but more of the fact that I have nothing in my stomach besides juice & coffee. Still a little motivation to keep going 'til day 3, though.  :)

"Grapefruit Green" smoothie with ground flax seed for fiber.

I had a ton of meetings today at work, so had just enough time to run to a convenience store & pick up a "Green Machine" Naked Juice for lunch.

I plan on going to Nekter Juice Bar after work to try one of their smoothies for "dinner".

'til day 3...

Juice Cleanse Day 1

Day 1 of my juice cleanse & I'm immediately regretting this decision.  Thank goodness for my blog or else I would have definitely gone back on my word.  It's not the lack of food that's bothering me, but the lack of COFFEE.  I've haven't gone a day without coffee since probably high school.

I went to Livestrong.com & searched "caffeine withdrawal symptoms".  Here's what I got:

Severe, throbbing headaches, fatigue, sleepiness and inability to concentrate or focus on activities are common symptoms a person experiences when withdrawing from caffeine. The more caffeine consumed daily, the more difficult it is to stop and the more severe the withdrawal symptoms become, according to researchers at Johns Hopkins.

Check.  Check.  Check.

Other than that, I'm doing just splendid.
